After sell out seasons at the 2011 and 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringes and Adelaide Fringe 2012, Comic Strip is making its debut at Brighton Comedy Festival.
Recently wed curators Asher Treleaven (Best Newcomer Nominee 2010) and Gypsy Wood (‘The new queen of kink’ Time Out) revive the vintage nightclub era of Go-Go, Burlesque and Stand Up.
Free from the puritanical anti-profanity laws, burlesque clubs in the 60s became a haven for comedians like Lenny Bruce. A place where comedians could and would say anything they dared without threat of incarceration.
This year Asher and Gypsy have scoured the world for the most beautiful burlesque performers and talented comedians and are proud to announce renowned guest artists: Zoe Lyons, Kitty Bang Bang & Kiki Kaboom.
