INFO FOR ARTISTS

Thank you so much for showing interest in our Gig for a Gig initiative

We’re a 300 seat, 500 standing venue, that hosts a multidisciplinary programme of music, comedy, theatre, dance, immersive digital events and more.

We were opened in 2011 by the creators of the global phenomenon STOMP - to create an artist-led independent hub for the community, arts and music scene in Brighton & Hove. And in 2024, we became a charity.

We are an artist-led, risk-taking, melting pot of creativity… and would love your support to help continue supporting emerging artists in the city.

THE FACTS

As of September 2026…

We welcome over 55,000 visitors every year.

We have hosted 3,163 varied performances, 1,080 of which were local emerging artists.

We have gifted over 500 days for artist development and put 900+ artists through our LAB training and development programmes.

And it costs us just over £1,000 to open our doors each night - which is why support providing a platform for the next generation is so important!

WHAT IS GIG FOR A GIG?

It’s headline artists supporting the next generation.

When we opened in 2011, we were cutting out tickets by hand. Now, we’re at the cutting edge. Over this time we’ve been able to support hundreds of emerging performers and have put on thousands of events, all thanks to the private funding of some of the city’s leading artists.

Now we’re carrying on in the footsteps of this proud tradition with Gig for a Gig - established names donate a performance, with the proceeds funding new work by emerging artists. It’s art supporting art.

By donating a performance, you’ll be in good company
