The Old Market (TOM) is inviting musicians, producers, and music industry professionals to explore the future of live performance through… ImmersiveLAB.
This LAB is part of our #TOMtech series, which aims to bridge the gap between traditional performance and emerging technologies.
What Is ImmersiveLAB?
ImmersiveLAB at The Old Market offers a unique opportunity for musicians and music industry professionals to explore the intersection of music and immersive technology. By participating, artists can innovate their performances, engage new audiences, and shape the future of live music.
The lab is designed to provide artists and bands with the resources and expertise to explore the creative potential of immersive formats. The programme offers four commissions, each worth up to £1,000, to support selected artists or bands to play and create. Commission recipients will have the unique opportunity to:
• Develop a short set within the immersive 'In The Box' format
• Collaborate with specialists in spatial sound and visual design
• Work alongside Team TOM for a development period in August 2025
The resulting works will be showcased in Autumn 2025, providing a platform for public engagement and feedback.
Why Should Musicians Apply?
ImmersiveLAB is designed to help musicians:
Explore new tools and techniques in a supportive environment.
Collaborate with experts in immersive technologies.
Develop innovative performances that engage audiences in new ways.
Stay ahead of industry trends by integrating cutting-edge technology into their work.
By participating in ImmersiveLAB, artists can push the boundaries of their creativity and redefine the live music experience.
