WE WON, WE WON!

We’re beyond thrilled to announce that The Old Market (TOM) has been named the Audience Choice Best Large Venue at the Brighton Fringe Awards 2025!

To get this kind of recognition means the world to everyone here, not just because it comes from one of the most dynamic arts festivals in the UK, but because you, our audiences, our community and our friends voted for us.

We had some amazing events take place this year as part of Brighton Fringe. Toxic by Nathianel J Hall (and presented by Dibby Theatre) kicked off our programme for the month, and garnered praise from audiences and critics alike, with five-star reviews from EntertainmentNow and The Latest.

We also had a one-night-only spectacular courtesy of The Black Cat Cabaret, with standout performances from Joanna Woodward, Le Gateau Chocolat, Carol Cates, Chi Chi Revolver and Aurora Starr - it was a jam-packed whirlwind of entertainment!

Our own Creative Director, Helen Jewell, sums up everything best…

"Wow! We are so honoured to be recognised by the Brighton Fringe audiences with this win. The award is a testament to the dedication and passion of Team TOM, our Front of House team, the technicians, and everyone behind the scenes who make TOM the beautiful and welcoming space that it is. To everyone who voted, thank you so much - we’re looking forward to even more amazing times ahead in 2025 and beyond."

As many of you know, 2024 marked an exciting new chapter for TOM as we became a registered charity. Ever since we first opened the doors, our mission has been to celebrate and support both established and emerging artists. Whether through our year-round programming or our in-house festivals like Reigning Women and In The Box, we

Thank you for your continued support, your applause, and your votes. Here’s to many more nights of unforgettable performance at TOM.
