A Night For The Mandem is a special show dedicated to the conversation surrounding men's mental health, with a musically unconventional twist.
Instead of a night full of repeated talking points surrounding its importance, A Night for the Mandem offers a honest, brilliant and vulnerable display of manhood, how it feels being a man in today's world, and why uniting both sides proves better in moving forward than continuing expired rhetoric of gender wars and falling into the trap of maintaining patriarchal order.
With JJM and Jaebo both serving as openers for the show, they represent two sides of the same coin: challenging hetero-normative stereotypes, focusing their lyricism on vulnerability and autobiographical stories shaped by their perspectives on life, paired with razor-sharp punchlines and tongue-twisters that defy the laws of physics and the dexterity of the English language.
The show is then followed by an open cypher - a Brighton tradition that unites every rap sub-genre together (hip hop, grime, trap etc), enabling fellow rappers and singers alike to partake in an improvisational setting filled with competitive spirit, freestyles designed to test the sharpness of one's sword; displaying collaboration and the strength of the Brighton rap scene.
Ending the night, is a headline showcase from Marshall Mandiangu; with a decade's worth of history in the Brighton music scene, releasing several hits, iconic music videos, performing in landmark venues and historic achievements, this presents a unique reveal of what life is currently like as a 29-year-old disabled AuDHD person. Bridging the gap between being raised by legendary elders and welcoming the new generation; Marshall's role serves as a reminder that neurodivergence is not only an important of their identity, but that the ethos of the night is one that welcomes the Mandem of all intersectionalities.

Marshall Mandiangu is a multi-talented singer, rapper, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. With his diverse skill set and immense passion for music, he has garnered recognition as a 4-time award-nominated artist. The enigmatic musical alter egos of Marshall Mandiangu (M.Kudo the singer, CM17 Sho Sho the rapper), seamlessly combine the celestial influences of astrology with the raw emotions of love and vulnerability.
As a singer, Marshall effortlessly weaves introspective lyrics with infectious melodies, painting vivid portraits of human connection and the intricacies of relationships. Jaebo
JAEBO is a South UK rapper, producer, and mentor bringing raw, emotional storytelling and creative lyricism to the stage.
With years of live performance behind him and a passion for using music to heal, JAEBO delivers an energetic, powerful, and authentic set that is as much about the message as it is the music.
He really leaves everything on stage. Expect to bounce, to cry, and to forget all about your ex for an evening (you might even delete their number afterward).
JJM
JJM is a Buddhist rapper, songwriter and producer who blends introspective storytelling with spiritual lyricism and emotional delivery.
Following the sudden death of his father during the COVID-19 pandemic, JJM began writing raps as a way to process grief, depression, and personal transformation. Over time, that practice evolved from a mere therapeutic outlet into also a deeper devotion to the craft and culture.
This culminated in Really, his first release. Dedicated to his father, the song served as the lead single for his debut mixtape More Life More Love, the title of which later grew into a cornerstone of his brand and merchandise. Since then, JJM has independently released over 40 singles and accompanying instrumentals, amassing over 50,000 streams.
Having performed at over 100 shows across the UK, including multiple sold-out headline shows and an opening performance for Coast Contra, JJM has shared stages with the likes of Donae'o, Mak 10, Kruz Leone, Kele Le Roc, and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
An alumnus of AudioActive’s 'Emerge' artist development programme and mentee of Frankie Stew (of Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn), his live performances have been broadcasted across ITV, Channel 4, and the BBC.
